Maya Angelou’s scent takes you to a quaint speakeasy bar in Harlem. You feel instantly comfortable, watching a distracted pianist lost in jazzy notes, a graceful server shimmering in glitter, as you melt into large weather armchairs. The base notes of this scent reflect the mysterious enchantment of the atmosphere: Dark Musk, Sandalwood, Peppercorn, Powder, Fennel, and Tonka Bean. The middle notes of this scent emanate from the kitchen to tickle your nostrils: Basil, Clove, Black Currant, Black Basil, Sea Salt, Teakwood, and Tobacco leaves. The air is spicy, dreamy, with top notes of Anise, Saffron, Leather, Allspice, Petitgrain, Allspice, and Eucalyptus.
The rhythm of her voice seamlessly harmonizes with the lonely pianist as your conversation swirls around mothers and struggles, love, intimacy, and vulnerability, freedom and responsibility in performance and music, and the undeniable link from the personal to the political.

Synopsis
Each scent is crafted based on an imagined meeting with my (and probably your) favorite authors. 4 are from the US, 4 are from the Caribbean (namely Martinique and Haiti). All scents are original, proprietary blends.
Proceeds from our candles go toward keeping our event ticket prices as low as possible so money is not a barrier for those who are interested and would benefit from the experiences.

Can I pick up my order?
If you live in Austin, TX or surrounding towns, you can pick up your order at a discount. Details about pickup will be shared upon purchase.
When will I get my order?
At this time, you can expect your order to be processed within 3 weeks. Then, you'll receive an email with a link to where you can track the shipping all the way to your door.
Can I exchange or return my candles?
No. All candle purchases are final. However, you can drop off your candle for repouring. Yet another benefit of reusable vessels!
