Edwige Danticat’s scent conjures the image of an impromptu meeting in a small library in Cap-Haitien, after she read from her latest work. It’s early Spring, and your nostrils are teased by a mixture of sweetness, wood, and spice like the base notes of this scent: Sandalwood, Cream, Powder, Light Musk, Amyris, Vanilla, and Cedar.
She invites you to sit with her and have some tea and mille-feuille in a private corner, near large windows. Overlooking a quaint street shaded with trees that bent under the weight of their bright, beautiful flowers. The middle notes illustrate this setting through Green Tea, Black Tea, Sea Salt, Hydrangea, Lily of the Valley, Cherry, and Apple Blossom.
The conversation is animated, matching this scent’s spicy and grounded top notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Orange, Lemon Peel, Clover, Ozone, Green Leaves, and Pear. It ranges from creating as an expat, Black diaspora wars, the privilege of mobility as a Haitian, and the dangerous concept of home.

Synopsis
Each scent is crafted based on an imagined meeting with my (and probably your) favorite authors. 4 are from the US, 4 are from the Caribbean (namely Martinique and Haiti). All scents are original, proprietary blends.
Proceeds from our candles go toward keeping our event ticket prices as low as possible so money is not a barrier for those who are interested and would benefit from the experiences.

Can I pick up my order?
If you live in Austin, TX or surrounding towns, you can pick up your order at a discount. Details about pickup will be shared upon purchase.
When will I get my order?
At this time, you can expect your order to be processed within 3 weeks. Then, you'll receive an email with a link to where you can track the shipping all the way to your door.
Can I exchange or return my candles?
No. All candle purchases are final. However, you can drop off your candle for repouring. Yet another benefit of reusable vessels!
